Prayer at Risen Hope

Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 14:13

Prayer is an incredible privilege.

To boldly come before our Father in heaven is an extraordinary grace, purchased by the precious blood of Jesus (Hebrews 4:16). We are invited repeatedly throughout the Scriptures to come to the Father in the name of his Son, seeking not only his will to be done, but his glory to be exalted in whatever we ask. Sadly, despite the remarkable promise in John 14:13, this privilege is often neglected in our lives. Whether because of doubt or fear or simply busyness, we do not pray as we ought. Nevertheless, it should bring us great joy to know that we will always find God more eager to hear our prayers than we ever are to pray them.

Every Sunday, 8am-10am, we host a regular, weekly prayer gathering within Risen Hope’s offices. We call this Sunday Prayer. Whether you join in-person or join via Zoom, we ask you to take time before Sunday’s service at 10am to gather and pray. There is little else we could be doing that would be more important or necessary than bringing our needs and desires to our Heavenly Father, who promises to support those he’s redeemed.

The eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.

2 Chronicles 16:9

We have also created a prayer guide (link) that will help provide ideas for things to pray for and loosely structure our time together, but everyone is invited to join and bring to God whatever needs they have weighing on their hearts. Also feel free to send any prayer requests to prayer@risenhope.cc which will be monitored throughout the duration of the prayer gatherings and we will lift pray for them.

We really hope that you’re able to participate. God bless, Risen Hope.
